Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
The Kongakut River trip in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is timeless. You travel from the heart of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge’s Brooks Range Mountains to the calving grounds of the Porcupine Caribou Herd, just short of the Beaufort Sea.
For many months every year the Alaskan Arctic has been dormant, yet in June it springs to life with abundant flowers, migrating birds, bears, wolves, musk oxen and the Porcupine Caribou Herd.
Arctic River Guides will help on your journey through the land of the midnight sun, where you will be able to explore with daily walking and hiking opportunities, wildlife viewing, photography, and of course time to relax and enjoy life in the Arctic.
